Job description
This is a fully remote role within the United States.
As a Senior Product Manager on our Data Product team, you will own the strategy for claims data at Turquoise, from how it’s sourced and brought into the platform to how it’s used across our products. Claims data is a key input to much of what we build, and this role makes sure it’s high quality, well understood, and easy for other teams to use.
Working with claims data means working within constraints. Each source comes with its own terms, and the job is to understand them well and build as much value as possible within them. You’ll need technical depth in claims data infrastructure, a strong grasp of how claims inform pricing and reimbursement, and the judgment to handle questions that don’t have obvious answers.
What You’ll Do
Most of the time, you’ll:
- Own the strategy and roadmap for claims data across all of our sources, deciding what to build, what to extend, and where to invest next.
- Understand the usage terms and constraints that come with each data source, and find creative ways to build value within them.
- Manage our external data partnerships, staying close to partners to understand their data, improve what we get from them, and keep a clear view of the broader market.
- Own how claims data comes into Turquoise. That includes building ingestion that’s reliable and flexible across formats, and steadily improving data quality and mapping.
- Make claims data easy for other product teams to build on, so they can move quickly without rebuilding the same logic.
- Bring claims data into our AI and analytics experiences, so users can get answers from data that’s relevant to them.
Some of the time, you’ll:
- Shape the in-platform experience for customers who share claims with us, so the benefit is obvious: a flexible space for building their own reports and insights from their claims.
- Make it easy for Strategy & Operations and Solutions Engineering to access claims data for client projects and analyses.
- Build and maintain the reusable claims dimensions and benchmarking tables that support all of the above.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Prior product management experience (3-5 years), ideally with real ownership over a data-centric roadmap, not just data-informed decisions.
- Direct experience with healthcare claims data and pricing mechanics, specifically how claims are adjudicated and paid against contracted rates.
- Exposure to price transparency data specifically is a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of how different healthcare stakeholders (payers, providers, life sciences, employers/brokers, digital health and care navigation) actually use data to make decisions. The assets you shape will serve all of them, often differently.
- Comfort treating other internal teams as your customers, and skill at balancing proactive, self-directed roadmap work with planning built around other teams’ timelines.
- Enough data fluency to reason clearly about data models, tradeoffs, and definitions, without needing to own or build the technical pipeline yourself.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach to work that has enormous leverage across the org.
Benefits
- Competitive pay with equity options
- Stellar health care plan options (Medical, Dental & Vision), with FSA, DCFSA, & HSA options
- Company-sponsored disability & life insurance
- Unlimited PTO
- 401(k) + 4% Matching
- Fully remote work + flexible working hours
- $750 work-from-home setup budget
- Paid biannual in-person company summits
- Quarterly $150 co-hanging stipend to meet up with coworkers
- Monthly $100 health and wellness benefit
- Generous paid family leave
- Annual $1,200 learning & development stipend
