Why LeoLabs?
At LeoLabs, we’re building the living map of activity in space. Through our proprietary global radar network and AI-enabled analytics platform, we collect millions of measurements each day on more than 25,000 objects in low Earth orbit (LEO). Our radar-powered intelligence helps protect critical assets, characterize activity in orbit, monitor emerging threats, and enable safer and more effective operations for commercial and government missions.
We’re not just building technology—we are redefining global security, safety, and transparency in space. As orbital activity accelerates and the operating environment becomes increasingly complex, LeoLabs is a trusted partner for Space Domain Awareness, Space Traffic Management, satellite operations, and national security missions around the world.
If you're looking to work on mission-critical challenges at the intersection of aerospace, national security, sensing, software, data, and AI, your impact starts here. This position is contingent upon final approval, with an anticipated hiring timeline beginning as early as January 2027. We are beginning the search in advance of the anticipated hiring timeline.
LeoLabs is seeking a Radar Product Manager to lead the continued development, commercialization, and growth of our transportable radar product, our radar-based space domain awareness product.
Our transportable radar product combines advanced radar sensing, software, data processing, and operational capabilities to provide customers with persistent, high-quality information about objects and activity in low Earth orbit. Our transportable radar product extends LeoLabs' ability to deploy sensing capability where customers need it and enables a range of commercial and government missions.
This role sits at the intersection of customers, product strategy, radar technology, engineering, operations, deployment, and business objectives. You will be responsible for understanding customer missions and market opportunities, defining where our transportable radar product should compete, shaping the capabilities and configurations customers need, and helping turn advanced radar technology into scalable products and services customers can buy, deploy, and operate.
The ideal candidate is a strong product thinker with both commercial and technical judgment. You should have experience working in the space industry or in a closely related aerospace or national-security environment, be comfortable working with complex hardware and software systems, and be able to translate customer missions and technical capabilities into clear product and business direction.
What You’ll Do
Own the product and business strategy for our transportable radar product, including product vision, roadmap, market positioning, prioritization, packaging, configurations, and execution
Develop a deep understanding of our transportable radar product customers, users, missions, workflows, operational environments, procurement considerations, and buying behavior
Work directly with commercial and government customers, operators, mission partners, internal stakeholders, and subject-matter experts to identify unmet needs, validate product opportunities, and determine where our transportable radar product can create differentiated value
Identify and prioritize market segments, mission areas, use cases, deployment models, and customer problems where our transportable radar product can create meaningful mission impact and business growth
Translate customer, mission, and business requirements into clear product requirements, system capabilities, configurations, interfaces, and prioritized development work
Partner closely with radar, hardware, software, systems, data, infrastructure, and operations teams throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and definition through development, integration, testing, deployment, operation, and iteration
Make product investment decisions based on customer value, strategic differentiation, revenue potential, sensor performance, technical feasibility, operational complexity, scalability, and company priorities
Define how our transportable radar product capabilities, configurations, service levels, and access models are packaged and positioned so customers can clearly understand what they are buying, what mission outcomes it enables, and how it differs from other LeoLabs offerings
Partner with Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Customer Success to support customer engagements, technical discussions, demonstrations, proposals, strategic pursuits, pilots, and go-to-market activities
Help shape pricing, packaging, service models, and commercial structures for our transportable radar product offerings in partnership with Product leadership and other business stakeholders
Develop a strong understanding of the tradeoffs between radar performance, deployment location, coverage, capacity, tasking, reliability, availability, maintainability, cost, and customer mission outcomes
Partner with Engineering and Operations to understand radar performance and identify opportunities to improve sensing capability, data quality, coverage, availability, operational efficiency, and customer value
Help define requirements for how customers interact with and task our transportable radar product, how measurements and data products are delivered, and how our transportable radar product integrates with customer and LeoLabs software systems
Maintain and communicate a clear product roadmap and ensure alignment across Product, Engineering, Radar Operations, Sales, Business Development, Customer Success, and company leadership
Define and monitor product, business, and operational metrics that measure customer outcomes, radar performance, availability, utilization, adoption, reliability, deployment effectiveness, revenue impact, and overall product performance
Lead product launches and internal enablement, ensuring that customer-facing teams can effectively explain, demonstrate, position, and sell our transportable radar product capabilities
Continuously evaluate competing sensing solutions, emerging radar and sensor technologies, customer acquisition trends, market developments, and evolving space and national-security requirements to identify new opportunities for our transportable radar product
Distinguish between one-off customer requirements and repeatable market needs, ensuring our transportable radar product evolves as a scalable product family rather than a collection of bespoke radar programs
Help establish and improve product management practices as LeoLabs continues to scale its product organization
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of product management experience, preferably with products involving hardware, software, data, sensing, infrastructure, or other complex technical systems
Professional experience working in the space industry, or in a closely related aerospace, defense, or national-security environment, with demonstrated understanding of space missions, customers, operators, or technologies
Demonstrated experience owning products or significant product areas from market discovery and product strategy through development, deployment, launch, adoption, and iteration
Strong business judgment and the ability to connect product decisions to customer mission outcomes, competitive differentiation, revenue opportunities, and company strategy
Strong customer orientation and experience engaging directly with customers to uncover needs, validate opportunities, and translate feedback into scalable products
Demonstrated ability to understand complex technical systems and translate technical capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs into clear product direction and priorities
Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams that may include hardware, software, systems, infrastructure, data, operations, or related technical functions
Ability to make informed prioritization decisions across competing customer requests, market opportunities, engineering constraints, operational considerations, cost, schedule, and strategic priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, operators, customers, executives, and other technical and non-technical audiences
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use technical performance data, customer feedback, market information, and business considerations to make product decisions
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where customer needs, technology, operational conditions, and market requirements can evolve quickly
Curiosity and willingness to develop deeper expertise in radar, RF systems, space surveillance, orbital operations, and related technical domains
Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and independently drive product decisions while building alignment across multiple organizations
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally to engage directly with customers, partners, deployment teams, and internal stakeholders
LeoLabs is a global company with customers, radar sites, partners, and users around the world, and this role will require periodic travel to understand customer missions, support key engagements and deployments, and represent the product in-market
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with radar, RF systems, remote sensing, ground-based sensors, satellite sensors, or other advanced sensing technologies
Experience developing or commercializing products that integrate hardware, software, data, communications, infrastructure, and operational systems
Direct experience with Space Domain Awareness, Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance and Tracking, satellite operations, orbital analysis, or related space missions
Familiarity with missile warning, missile tracking, and integrated air and missile defense missions, including an understanding of how sensor performance, coverage, latency, tracking quality, and data delivery support operational warning and tracking architectures
Experience working with satellite operators, U.S. government space organizations, allied defense organizations, intelligence organizations, or commercial space companies
Familiarity with radar concepts such as detection, tracking, search, revisit rates, coverage, waveforms, beam scheduling, capacity, measurement quality, or sensor tasking
