Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a salary to an hourly rate?
Divide the yearly salary by the hours you work in a year, which is your hours per week times the weeks you are paid for. With 40 hours and 52 weeks, a salary of 52,000 a year is 25.00 an hour.
Why does the number of weeks matter?
A salary covers the weeks you are paid for. If you take unpaid time off, fewer weeks share the same pay, so each hour is worth more. Paid holidays and vacation count as paid weeks.
Is this before or after tax?
Before tax. The calculator converts gross pay between periods and does not subtract taxes, retirement contributions or other deductions, which depend on where you live and your own choices.
Is anything I type saved or sent?
No. The calculator runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Applystead or anyone else, and nothing is saved after you leave the page.
