How to use it

Enter the offer and your ask. Type the role, the pay they offered and the figure you want to ask for. The script quotes both exactly, so use the same terms they used, such as per hour or per year.
List your reasons. Add your experience, results with their numbers, skills and your current pay if it helps your case. The script uses only these reasons and adds nothing of its own.
Practice it out loud. Read each part aloud a few times until it sounds like you. Change any words you would not say, and keep the pushback answer ready in case they say the budget is fixed.

Start by thanking them for the offer and saying you are excited about the role. Then say you would like to talk about the pay before you accept. A warm opening makes it clear you want the job, which makes the ask that follows easier to hear.

What if they say the budget is fixed?

The script includes an answer for that moment. It asks politely whether they can meet you partway, and it can raise other things you might ask for instead, such as an earlier pay review or a sign-on bonus, without inventing any figure you did not give.
