How to use it
- Wait about a week. Give the employer at least five to seven working days after you apply, unless the posting names a date when they will reply.
- Fill in the details. Add who you are writing to, the company, the job title and the date you applied. Add a referrer's name if someone referred you.
- Send it once, then move on. Pick a version, check the names, and send it from the email address you applied with. If there is no reply after a second follow-up, focus on other applications.

How long should I wait to follow up on a job application?
About one to two weeks after you apply is common, unless the posting says when the employer will reply. Following up sooner can seem impatient, and waiting much longer means the role may already be filled.
Who should I send the follow-up email to?
Send it to the recruiter or hiring manager named in the posting or in any reply you received. If no one is named, a short message to the company's recruiting address or a recruiter on the company's team is a reasonable choice.
How many times should I follow up?
Once or twice is enough. Send one follow-up after a week or two and, if there is still no reply, one final note later. After that, put your time into other applications.
Is anything I type saved or sent?
No. The email is filled in on this page, in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Applystead or anyone else, and nothing is saved after you leave the page.
