PRODUCT UPDATES

What’s new on October 4, 2026

The 53 updates to Applystead that went live for every member on .

Queue

Behind the scenes: job reading is back to its normal pace

We finished re-reading older job postings and set the service that reads them back to its normal size. New postings are still read soon after they appear, and the service now uses fewer resources. Your queue and job lists work exactly as before.

Answers

AI answers now on for Auto apply, plus one-tap AI drafts

When you use Auto apply, AI now answers the questions your applications wait on, so they don't wait for you. It never answers questions about your identity, and you can turn it off anytime in Queue options. If you review applications yourself, AI now drafts answers in your Answer library for you to approve or edit in one tap; nothing is sent without your approval.

Workspace

Otto now moves gently, and always has all eight arms

On devices whose browser draws with graphics acceleration, Otto now moves a little wherever he appears: a slow bob and sway, a soft breath and a ripple down his arms. He starts only once the page has finished loading, so pages open just as quickly, and he stays still if your device is set to reduce motion. We also redrew his pictures so he always has exactly eight arms.

Free resume tools now work as one kit

The free keyword checker, ATS checker, resume tailor and cover letter generator now share your resume and the job: enter them once and each step fills them in for the next. AI drafts no longer stop at a dead end: any number, degree or name we can’t find in what you wrote is highlighted for you to confirm or remove. The resume tailor opens faster, and you can see open jobs for the role.

Behind the scenes: lighter checks for new work, and more travel jobs read

When the systems that send applications ask for new work and none is ready, it now costs our servers far less, and capacity follows the applications that can actually start. Job postings that mention travel without saying how often are now read in full instead of being set aside, so they can be matched to your search.

Search criteria

Search for roles in any field, not only tech

Role suggestions, job families and matching now cover every field, including administrative, healthcare, education, transportation, hospitality, safety and the trades. A search with more than five saved places now uses all of them, up to 50, and your queue now reaches every matching job instead of skipping some at the end of a page.

Resumes

Tailored resumes keep the summary you wrote

When we tailor your resume for a job, the summary you wrote now stays yours. If it opens with one of your job titles, we may switch it to another title you have actually held that fits the job better, never one you haven't. Product leadership skills such as roadmaps, go-to-market and P&L are now recognized when your resume is matched to a job.

Queue

Jobs in every field are now read in full

We now read nursing, driving, retail, trades, office and other non-technical job postings as fully as technical ones, so their requirements, seniority and location can match your search. We are also re-reading about 240,000 postings we had set aside earlier; those we can read reach your queue and job lists over the coming hours.

Queue

Closed jobs leave every queue sooner

When an employer closes a job, Applystead now removes it from your queue as soon as we find it closed, so your queue refills with open jobs instead of waiting on ones you can no longer apply to.

Applications

Match scores and Why this match?

Every job in your queue and Free list now shows its match score with the skills you have and the ones it asks for. Choose Why this match? for a short explanation: 5 a day on Free, unlimited on paid plans.

Assistant

Ask Applystead

Ask Applystead answers your job search questions, runs coaching sessions on a stalled search, a career change or interview prep, and writes a 30-day job search plan from your skill gaps. Free includes 10 messages a day; paid plans are unlimited. It replaces the advice chat on your dashboard.

Interviews

Practice questions for each role

Get 12 practice questions written for a job from its description and public facts about the company, with what each one tests and how to answer. Open Practice questions from an application or a job. Free includes 3 new sets a day; paid plans are unlimited.

Profile

Improve your LinkedIn profile

My profile can now write a LinkedIn headline, About section, experience bullets and skills list from your resume for you to copy into LinkedIn. You can also fill your profile from your LinkedIn data export (.zip) and review it before saving. Free includes 3 writes a day; paid plans are unlimited.

New jobs

Job alerts by email and browser notification

On the Free plan, Job alerts send you new jobs you can apply to for free by email, daily or weekly, and can also arrive as notifications in your browser on each device where you turn them on.

Resumes

Download your resume as a Word file

Resume studio can now save your resume as a Word (.docx) document, alongside PDF, so you can edit it or send it where Word files are required.

Applications

Rate Applystead

You can now rate Applystead from 1 to 5 and write a short review from Applications or My profile. Choose whether to publish it; published reviews appear on the public reviews page, newest first, whatever their rating.

Applications

Clearer status for employee-only job postings

Some postings can only be applied to through the employer's own staff sign-in. These now show No longer eligible instead of staying pending, so your list reflects roles you can actually apply to.

New jobs

Behind the scenes: jobs from JazzHR, Workable and Breezy now analyzed

We now read and analyze job postings from JazzHR, Workable and Breezy career sites, so more of their jobs can be matched to your search. We also gave the work that prepares and sends applications to the busiest career sites more processing room, so it finishes sooner.

Search criteria

Jobs & locations shows your matching jobs sooner

Your matching jobs in Jobs & locations now start loading as soon as you reach for the button, so they appear with the map instead of after it, and reopening it shows them almost at once. Ticking a box or choosing from a list, like remote only or your pay period, now updates your matching jobs right away instead of after a short pause.

Queue

Behind the scenes: finding new jobs scales up on spare capacity

The work that finds new job postings for your queue now runs on spare cloud capacity when it is available, so it can grow during busy periods at a lower cost, and moves to our regular capacity when it is not. Your queue and applications work exactly as before.

Undo a Pass for 10 seconds

When you pass on a job in your queue, or press “I already applied”, an Undo button now shows for 10 seconds. Press it and the job goes straight back where it was.

Analytics

Heat maps now use the site's colors, with softer, rounder hot spots

The maps in Analytics and in your search criteria now use the site's own greens and warm tones. Land with no jobs nearby stays a calm green, and each place glows warmer, from terracotta to cream, the more jobs it has and the better they pay. Places now show as soft, round spots that grow with their jobs and merge where cities cluster, so busy regions stand out at a glance.

Applications

Behind the scenes: more applications confirmed the first time

We now wait longer for slow employer sites to confirm an application, keep the confirmation even when our systems are briefly busy, check some answers with the career site before sending, and recognise more confirmation pages. We also fill in more of the questions Workday career sites ask, like how you heard about the job and your phone's country code.

Finish setup even after removing every place from your search

During setup, you can now approve your profile after removing every place from your search. We save it as a search with no location limit, and you can add places any time under Jobs & locations.

Clearer wording for jobs you already applied to yourself

In your queue, the button for a job you already applied to on your own now reads “I already applied”, so it is clear that pressing it takes that job out of your queue.

Applications

Behind the scenes: better handling of Workday career-site forms

We improved how we fill in forms on employers' Workday career sites: choosing answers from Workday's drop-down lists, re-checking address fields that Workday reloads as you type, and setting up and confirming the employer account Workday asks applicants to create, including recognizing the account emails Workday sends.

Behind the scenes: another pass over postings not yet fully read

We gave job postings that were not yet fully read another pass, so more of them now show details like requirements, seniority and location in your queue and job lists. New postings keep being read as they arrive.

The Feedback button now stays in the bottom-right corner

Feedback is back in the bottom-right corner of every page, whether you're signed in or not, including our free tools. It stays there while windows such as Jobs & locations are open. Buttons and bars near the bottom of the screen now leave room for it.

Applications

Behind the scenes: applications keep going while we update our systems

When we update or rebalance the servers that carry your applications to employer career sites, applications already on their way are no longer interrupted, so fewer of them need another try.

Queue

The figures at the top of your queue load faster

When Auto applies for you across a wide search, the figures at the top of your queue, like how many jobs are ready, waiting and left to apply to, now appear at once instead of after a pause of a second or more. While Auto is busy, they catch up with its latest work on the next refresh, a few seconds later.

Analytics

Heat maps now fill the land with detailed color

The maps in Analytics and in your search criteria now color all the land in smooth, solid gradients instead of blocks. A place glows brighter the more jobs it has and the better they pay, its color reaches further the more jobs it has, and it fades with distance, so you can see each city and the region around it at a glance. The oceans stay clear.

Behind the scenes: a clearer view of what it costs to run Applystead

We now track every running cost in one place, including our cloud hosting bill, split into fixed costs and the cost of each application. It helps us keep Applystead affordable as it grows.

Queue

Behind the scenes: waiting applications go out as soon as we can send them

When an employer's form needs more work on our side, your application now waits for that improvement and is tried again as soon as it ships, rather than on a fixed weekly schedule. With Auto apply on it still shows as Applied, and if the job closes first it shows as No longer eligible.

More of the newest jobs from Workday career sites show full details

About 26,000 recent jobs posted on employers' Workday career sites now show their full details, like requirements, seniority and location, so more of them can match your search and reach your queue.

Profile

Your language now starts from where you are

Until you choose a language, Applystead now starts you on the one spoken where you are, when we offer it, not only American or British English: German in Germany, Spanish in Spain or Mexico, Portuguese in Brazil or Portugal. It sets how dates, times and numbers read and the language the Dashboard advice and Answer library assistant reply in. A language you chose stays; pick another flag any time.

Queue

Ready to apply: say yes to more jobs right from your queue

If you review applications before they're sent, your queue now also has a Ready to apply group below your prepared applications. Choose Apply and we'll send it for you; it shows as Applied right away. Choose Pass to skip it. It's there in List and Cards, and on a phone you can swipe.

Interviews, practice and calls now live on one screen

Interviews now has four tabs in the order an interview happens: Pipeline, Briefings, Practice and Calls. Your interview briefings, mock interviews and saved call transcripts are one click apart, and older links still open the right tab.

Behind the scenes: job details reach your queue sooner

We now read job postings faster, so full details like requirements, seniority and location reach more of the jobs in your queue and job lists sooner. The regular update that brings those details to you is also more reliable.

Queue

Ready applications keep up when you change your search

Changing your job titles or match no longer sends ready applications that still fit back to the start. If you narrow your search, the ready ones it leaves out are kept for three days in case you change it back. The Jobs & locations window now shows how many ready applications your changes keep, and you can pick several suggested job titles and add them at once.

Queue

Fresher ready applications, sooner after a change

We now keep enough applications ready for your busiest recent day, so the ones waiting for you are fresher. After you save a change, your first new applications are readied ahead of the line, and editing your phone, links or desired salary now updates many ready applications in place so they stay ready.

Applications

Behind the scenes: applications send more reliably on more career sites

Applications on Greenhouse forms with many dropdown questions now go through more reliably, Ashby forms that ask for your location in their own question are answered before sending, and Rippling forms are checked for every required question before they are sent. We also keep each employer's confirmation of a sent application more reliably.

Queue

Applications keep going until they're sent

With Auto apply on, an application whose employer form needs more work on our side no longer drops out of your queue. It shows as Applied, and we keep working on it until it is sent.

Queue

Auto now includes jobs that don't say where they are or whether they're remote

Many job postings never say where the job is, or whether it's remote. Auto apply now includes them by default, so more of the jobs that match your search can be sent. Two switches in Queue options turn either kind off, and each shows how many jobs it adds. In your search criteria, a new Flow view shows how your search narrows every job we track down to the ones left for you.

Answers

Fewer repeat pay questions, and clearer counts

In Questions employers ask most, the number of jobs waiting on a question now shows only beside the ones you haven't answered. An employer question asking whether a job's posted pay range suits you now comes to you instead of being answered with the pay you're looking for, and an earlier answer that already says that pay no longer brings the question back.

Queue

Behind the scenes: applications are prepared steadily when it's busy

We made the part of Applystead that matches how much work is waiting to the capacity preparing your applications more dependable, so new applications keep getting prepared promptly during busy periods.

Analytics

Heat maps now show where jobs pay best, with or without cost of living

The maps in Analytics and in your search criteria now draw solid, crisp blocks instead of a soft glow. The brighter a block, the more jobs per square kilometre and the better they pay. A new switch shows pay as listed or after cost of living, which now uses the latest official prices and rents, with regional figures for Japan, Canada, France and the UK.

Queue

More jobs from employers' Oracle career sites

On a paid plan, jobs posted on employers' Oracle career sites now count toward your matches and your queue, so you see more of the openings that fit your search.

New jobs

New jobs: see the jobs we found most recently

A new page, New jobs, lists the jobs Applystead found most recently, newest first. Filter by job title and place, including Remote, and choose the last 6, 12 or 24 hours. The list updates itself while you have it open. On Standard and Premium, one tap adds a job to your queue.

Thanks to Jake B. for their feedback.

Profile

The translation note now speaks your language

If you pick a language other than English when you review your profile during setup, the note asking you to point out translation errors, and its Send feedback button, are now written in your own language, in each of the 43 languages we offer besides English. Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu read right to left.

Queue

Behind the scenes: Get more jobs counts faster

The counts beside each change in Get more jobs on your queue are now worked out much faster for large searches, so your queue's figures come back sooner. The numbers themselves are unchanged.

Applications

The resume you sent opens right away

Opening an application now shows the resume sent with it straight away, page by page, instead of waiting for the PDF to draw. Email addresses on it still open your custom domain options, and Download PDF still gives you the exact file. If an application's sent copy isn't on file, you see the resume prepared for it, clearly marked as prepared.

Behind the scenes: more jobs are fully read for your matches

We are finishing reading the full posting of every job we list, so details like requirements, seniority and location show up for more jobs in your queue and job lists over the coming day.
