Private. Runs in your browser; nothing you type leaves your device.
Your results
- Cash pay = base salary plus base salary times the bonus percentage plus other cash.
- Equity and benefits = yearly equity value plus base salary times the retirement match percentage plus the benefits value; total = cash pay plus equity and benefits.
- All figures are yearly amounts before tax and deductions, in the currency you entered. Bonus and equity values are estimates, not promises.
How to use it
- Enter your base salary. Type the yearly base salary from the offer or your contract, before tax. This is the fixed pay that the bonus and retirement match percentages are worked out from.
- Add bonus, equity and match. Enter the target bonus and the retirement match as percentages of base salary, and the equity that vests in a typical year as an amount. Leave any that do not apply at 0.
- Add benefits and other cash. Enter what the employer spends on your benefits each year, if you know it, plus any allowances, stipends or other cash. Then read the cash pay, the non-cash value and the yearly total.

Frequently asked questions
What counts as total compensation?
Total compensation is everything a job pays you in a year, not just the salary. This calculator adds base salary, target bonus and other cash as cash pay, and equity, employer retirement match and benefits as non-cash value. The two together give one figure you can compare across offers.
How do I value equity for one year?
Take the value of the grant and divide it by the number of years it vests over. A grant worth 24,000 that vests over four years adds about 6,000 a year. Its value can go up or down with the share price, so treat it as an estimate. The RSU value calculator shows a vesting schedule in more detail.
Should I count a bonus that is not guaranteed?
Enter the target bonus to see the full potential value, or 0 for a cautious figure. Running both versions shows how much of the total depends on a bonus that may be paid in part, in full or not at all. Ask the employer how the bonus is decided and how much of it was paid in recent years.
Where do I find the value of my benefits?
Ask the recruiter or HR team what the employer contributes each year toward health cover, insurance and similar benefits, or look for a benefits summary or total rewards statement in your offer pack. If you cannot find a figure, leave it at 0 so the total stays conservative.
How does this help when negotiating?
It shows where the value of an offer sits. If the base salary is fixed, a larger bonus, more equity or a sign-on amount can close the gap to your target. Change one figure at a time to see how much each ask adds to the yearly total before you raise it with the employer.
