How to use it

- Paste the job if you have one. Add the job description to see which skills it asks for that your resume already shows. Skills you have not shown are left out rather than claimed.
- Review each group. Check the technical skills, tools and professional skills. Remove anything you would not be comfortable discussing in an interview.

How many skills should a resume list?
List the skills that matter for the job rather than every skill you have. A focused section of relevant technical skills, tools and professional skills is easier to scan than a long list, and each skill should be one you can back up with an example.
Should I split hard skills and soft skills?
Grouping helps a reader scan. Technical skills and tools show what you can do hands on, while professional skills such as communication show how you work. Soft skills are more convincing when a bullet point shows them in action, so keep that group short.
