How to use it
- Name the role you want. Enter the job title you are applying for, so each objective says clearly what you are aiming for.
- Describe your background. List your jobs, studies, training and skills in plain notes. Include anything that fits the role, even part-time work, volunteering or a course.

An objective says what role you want and what you bring to it, so it looks ahead. A summary sums up the experience you already have. Objectives suit entry-level candidates and career changers, while a summary usually works better once you have several years in the same field.
Should I still use a resume objective?
Use one when your target is not obvious from your experience, such as a first job, a move into a new field or a return to work. Keep it short and specific to the role. If your recent jobs already match the role, a summary may serve you better.
How long should a resume objective be?
One or two sentences is enough. Each objective this tool writes is between 25 and 50 words, short enough to read at a glance at the top of your resume while still naming the role and what you offer.
Will it invent experience I do not have?
