How to use it
- Name your colleague. Write the name of the person you are recommending as you want it to appear. The recommendation uses their name and the pronouns your notes use.
- Say how you worked together. Describe your working relationship, such as their manager, a teammate or a client, and for how long. Readers trust a recommendation more when they know how well you know the person.
- Add specific notes. List what they worked on, results with the real numbers, their strengths and a moment that shows how they work. Specific notes produce a specific recommendation instead of generic praise.
- Read it and send it. Check that every detail is accurate and sounds like you, adjust anything you would say differently, then paste it into the recommendation on your colleague's profile.

What makes a good recommendation?
It says how you know the person, names one or two specific things they did and the result, describes a strength with an example, and ends with a clear endorsement. Specific details are more convincing than general praise such as hard working or team player.
Does the generator make things up?
It is told to use only the facts in your notes, and every result is checked before you see it: a number, degree or name your text does not contain is refused and the recommendation is rewritten once. If it still cannot be written from your facts, nothing is shown and the attempt does not use your free allowance.
Who is the recommendation written as?
It is written in your voice, as the person giving the recommendation, about the colleague you name. It does not add job titles, employers or results that your notes do not mention, so include the details you want it to cover.
How long is the recommendation?
Each recommendation is between 120 and 200 words in a few short paragraphs: long enough to include real examples and short enough that a hiring manager will read it to the end.
How many recommendations can I write for free?
