How to use it
- Paste your text. Paste the LinkedIn post or the connection request note you have drafted, exactly as you plan to send it, including any line breaks and emoji.
- Choose what it is for. Pick Post for an update to your feed, or Connection request note for the personal message you add to an invitation to connect.
- Check it and trim if needed. Select Check it to see the characters used, the limit and how many are left. If the text runs over, cut extra words, repeated points or long lists until it fits.

What limits does this counter check?
Two limits that LinkedIn Help states: a post can be up to 3,000 characters, and a personalized connection request message can be up to 200 characters. Choose the one that matches your text and the counter compares its length with that limit.
Why can I not check my headline or About section?
LinkedIn Help does not state the character limits for other profile fields such as the headline, About or Experience sections, so they are left out rather than guessed.
How are characters counted?
The counter uses the text's length after trimming spaces and blank lines at the start and end. Spaces and line breaks inside the text count. An emoji can count as two characters, so a post full of emoji may use more of the limit than it looks.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The counter runs in your browser. Your text is not sent to Applystead or anyone else, and nothing is saved after you leave the page.
