The 52 updates to Applystead that went live for every member on .
Estimated pay is back on jobs that don't list pay
Jobs that don't list their pay show an estimate again wherever we can be confident in it: when it rests on enough similar jobs in the same place. It's always labelled as an estimate, and "Pay looks wrong?" next to it still tells us when one is off.
Behind the scenes: fixes and improvements reach you sooner
We sped up how updates to the application service go live, so fixes and improvements reach your account sooner, with the same safety checks before and after every change.
Behind the scenes: closer checks on the applications we send
We now check each application we send against the employer's own confirmation, and we watch application processing more closely, so anything that slows your applications down is spotted and fixed sooner.
Behind the scenes: the same pace on more efficient servers
Background work, such as checking job postings and keeping your workspace up to date, now runs on lower-cost servers that we add and remove as needed, with standby capacity that takes over automatically when they are unavailable. Your applications keep moving at the same pace.
Clearer answers on what Auto apply does and how much each plan handles
The Auto apply page now opens with a short answer: what Applystead does on each plan and how many applications a day it handles. Free prepares up to 10 a day for you to review and send, Standard lets you review up to 200, and Premium applies automatically. It also answers whether there is a free way to auto apply, and free résumé tools now link straight to tailoring your whole résumé for a job.
New: compare ways to get help applying, and a guide to applying faster
A new page compares the ways people get help sending job applications, from career services and freelancers to software, with the prices each one publishes and what to check before you pay anyone. A new guide shows how to apply to jobs faster while keeping each application strong, with a short checklist to follow.
More side-by-side comparisons of job search tools
You can now compare popular job search tools with each other, such as Jobright and Simplify, as well as with Applystead, and see a new comparison with Wonsulting. Several comparisons also answer whether a tool is legitimate, how to cancel, its refund terms and whether it is free to start, each with links to the sources we checked.
Behind the scenes: good Free matches kept until their details arrive
On the Free plan, a job that matches you well but is missing a detail we need to check it against your search, such as where it's based, is now kept aside instead of being dropped, and joins your queue as soon as that detail is filled in.
Free: pass on a job and a new one is prepared in its place
On the Free plan, when you pass on an application we prepared, we now prepare another one in its place, so you keep a full set of jobs to choose from. If you reach the day's limit, a short note tells you when the next ones will be ready. And when your search finds only a few jobs, we now suggest job titles from your resume to widen it.
Behind the scenes: new jobs reach you sooner, applications move faster
Our regular refresh of new job postings now finishes about 12% sooner, so new jobs reach your matches sooner and more reliably. Rebuilding your job matches after each refresh is quicker and steadier. And applications are now picked up for sending faster: about a third less waiting at busy times, and about a quarter more applications handled each hour.
Behind the scenes: quicker fixes for voice input
We can now follow each request to turn your speech into text from start to finish, so anything that slows the microphone down is found and fixed sooner.
Behind the scenes: applications keep moving at the busiest hours
When many applications were being prepared at once, some had to wait for a resume to be made and were set aside. That limit is now far higher, so your applications keep moving during the busiest hours. Teamtailor career sites that use another language variant of their pages are now handled too.
Answers you already gave fill in your pay, citizenship and clearance
If you already told us your pay, citizenship or security clearance, on an application, in your Answer library or as the minimum pay in your search, we now fill it in from that answer instead of asking again. An answer you kept for one employer stays with that employer, and an answer you clear stays cleared until you give a new one.
Speak instead of typing, and better directions from Ask Otto
Most browsers now show a microphone beside every chat box and the free-text questions in setup. Choose it, say what you want to write and choose it again: your words appear in the box, ready to check and edit before you send. Ask Otto now takes a little more care over each answer and knows what your plan includes, so it points you to the right place.
Applystead now applies on Pinpoint career sites
Jobs posted on employers' Pinpoint career sites can now be applied to for you, just like jobs on other supported career sites.
SmartRecruiters forms that ask which languages you speak
SmartRecruiters applications that ask which languages you speak, and how well, are now completed from your profile, or you are asked once and your answer is reused, so these applications no longer wait.
Pay from a range on your resume starts at the middle
When your resume gives a pay range, like $120k–$150k, the pay question in Auto setup and your profile questions now starts at the middle of the range ($135k) and says it came from that range. Change it to whatever you like. It's saved as your own answer.
Behind the scenes: email protection reports for custom domains
If you use a custom email domain with Applystead, mail providers can now send us their daily reports about mail sent in your domain's name, so we can check that your applications are recognized as genuine and spot anyone imitating your address.
Profile
Smarter job title suggestions when you set up
When you set up your profile, the job titles we suggest now follow the work you say you want next and name your field. If a title you type is too broad, such as "Senior Analyst", we say so and suggest adding your field. And if your choices match no jobs at your match level, setup shows how many you'd get at a lower level and lets you switch in one tap.
Queue
Fewer off-target jobs in your queue
Broad titles such as "Senior Analyst" now bring in jobs in your own field only, and experienced members no longer get internships or campus roles. A higher match level you choose is respected, and while many jobs are waiting for your answers, your queue stops adding looser matches until you've answered.
Queue
Passing on a job now shapes your queue
When you pass on a job, similar titles now rank lower in your queue, and the company isn't held against you. If you pass on several in a row, we offer a quick way to tell us what's off and adjust your search.
Profile
Your city from your ZIP code, in one tap
If your resume gives a US ZIP code but no city, setup and your profile offer to fill in your city, state and country with one tap. Answers you've already given, such as whether you're 18 or older or need sponsorship, are also reused instead of being asked again.
Behind the scenes: we watch how long approved applications wait
We now track, for each career site we apply on, how long the applications you approve, or that Auto approves for you, wait before they are sent. That helps us spot delays and fix them.
Faster, steadier applications on Lever and Greenhouse sites
Applications on Lever career sites now fill in about half the time, and a slow security check no longer stops them partway. On Greenhouse sites, a question that needs your city is now settled while your application is prepared, so it no longer holds things up at the last step.
Give your pay in 22 currencies, and say once if you could get a clearance
You can now give the pay you're looking for in 22 currencies, including Singapore, Hong Kong and Swedish money. And when you say you don't hold a security clearance, the same question now asks, once, whether you could get one if a job needed it.
Auto setup keeps the pay, citizenship and clearance you enter
When you turn on Auto apply, the pay, citizenship and security clearance you enter in its common questions are now saved. Before, they could be lost, so you were asked to answer them again. Answer once and Auto apply turns on.
Queue
Add your own job titles next to the suggested ones
When your queue suggests related job titles for your search, you can now also type your own titles right beside the suggestions and add them all in one step. We also tidied up the queue page: these suggestions now sit together with the ways to get more jobs, and the Posted or found filter sits next to its menu.
Behind the scenes: email from applystead.com is easier to verify
Mail providers can now confirm that messages sent from our applystead.com addresses really come from Applystead. That helps those messages reach the inbox instead of the spam folder.
Fixes for applications on Workday, Dayforce, Rippling and Jobvite career sites
We fixed a problem that could stop applications on Workday career sites at the final step. There we now fill in your degree and job title, pick the form's own "prefer not to say" option on self-identification questions, and ask once for your street address if needed. Dayforce dropdowns, Rippling date and rating questions and Jobvite country of residence are now handled, asking only when needed.
Behind the scenes: applications that can start now go first
Applications that need an employer account we can't create yet are no longer picked up only to wait, so applications that can be sent now go first. Greenhouse applications that need an emailed confirmation code are now matched to the right employer even when two employers use the same name, so more of them are completed.
New Remote Tech Index and a list of tech companies hiring remotely
The Remote Tech Index shows each month how many tech openings are open to remote applicants in the US, by role and application system, with data you can download and cite. A new list shows the tech companies with the most remote openings in the US, and the hiring pulse now ranks top tech employers with their remote openings.
Behind the scenes: steadier application preparation
Applications to jobs whose forms mention a security check are now prepared with all of their questions, and the system that tracks your applications keeps up as volume grows, so fewer applications wait longer than they should.
Applystead now applies on Teamtailor career sites
Jobs posted on employers' Teamtailor career sites can now be applied to for you, just like jobs on other supported career sites.
Auto keeps your queue moving
When some of your matches need more time before they can be sent, Auto now fills your queue with other matches it can apply to right away instead of waiting. If you use Auto, you may see more applications sent each day.
More jobs from more career sites are being read for your matches
We are now reading and analyzing many more job postings, including ones from career sites such as Dayforce, UKG and ADP, and more postings from Workable and Find a Job. Each posting we read can be matched to the members it fits. This is still under way: catching up on the remaining postings will take about two more days.
Behind the scenes: first applications sooner, fewer set aside
If you are new, your first applications are now prepared sooner. Jobs that closely match you now wait until we have finished reading the posting before an application is prepared, so fewer applications are prepared and then set aside. We also added capacity so the site and the preparing and sending of applications stay steady at busy times.
Fewer closed jobs in your queue
We now re-check open jobs from many more job sites at least once a week, so postings that have closed leave your queue sooner, and jobs we wrongly marked closed come back.
Browse US remote tech jobs and remote pay by role
Job lists now group US remote tech jobs by role: software engineering, data science, data engineering, machine learning, AI, DevOps and SRE, security, engineering management and product management, each linked to remote pay from posted salary ranges. The remote US list leaves out staffing agency and commission-only posts, and Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby pages list their newest openings.
Behind the scenes: a steadier site, sooner second tries and lighter queue work
Our public site now keeps its own servers while we add capacity. Applications held for something you can fix are tried again within minutes of the fix. And the pages that build your queue use about a fifth less computing time, and typically look through your jobs about a sixth faster.
Fewer stuck applications on Workday, Teamtailor and other career sites
On Workday career sites we now answer "How did you hear about us?" with a matching choice, or ask you once for the category and source, and enter your phone number the way the form expects. On Teamtailor sites, yes/no qualifying questions are checked before applying, so you are only asked when your answer is needed. Rippling, Pinpoint and Ashby forms finish more reliably too.
Greenhouse jobs now go out even if you never set an applying address
Some Greenhouse career sites email a code to the address you apply with before they accept an application. If you are on a paid plan and had not set an applying email address, those jobs were set aside. Applystead now sets up your applying address for you, and set-aside Greenhouse jobs that are still open are back in your queue.
Membership
Try Premium for 30 days with a one-time pass
You can now get Premium for 30 days with one payment of $199, shown on the Pricing page. It does not renew, and each account can buy it once. A full refund or a payment dispute ends the pass. The full terms are in the refund policy.
Smoother applications on SmartRecruiters career sites
On SmartRecruiters career sites, questions where you can pick several options are now asked once, pay and amount questions are answered in the job posting's own currency, and we now confirm privacy statements written as a paragraph, such as on New York City job postings.
Applystead now applies on Personio career sites
Jobs posted on employers' Personio career sites can now be applied to for you, just like jobs on other supported career sites.
Getting started
Start on Free straight away, with or without a resume
Choosing Free now takes you straight to adding your resume or experience. No resume at hand? Use the "Create your account now and add it later" link under the upload: you can finish setting up and add your resume whenever you are ready.
New page for data science, machine learning and AI jobs
There is now a page for data science, machine learning and AI jobs at /data-science-ml-ai-jobs. Company, role and guide pages, and the results of our free tools, now link to tailoring your resume for the job. Public pages also load faster.
Membership
Premium bought from October 8, 2026 no longer includes the job guarantee
Premium bought from October 8, 2026 does not include the 90-day job guarantee. If you bought Premium before then, you keep the guarantee on its original terms, and your Membership page shows them. The refund policy has been updated to match, and page footers now link to "Is Applystead legit?".
Applications go through on more company career sites
More of your applications now finish on employers' own career sites. We now fill in country and address fields laid out for each country, required cover letters, expected salary as a number, longer written answers and searchable dropdowns, get past security checks on some sites, and recognise the confirmation page on sites that offer a language switcher.
Behind the scenes: more forgiving free writing tools
The free writing tools now accept a wider range of text lengths and keep a usable first draft if trying again does not work. We also improved how we understand which parts of Applystead help people find us, so we can make it better.
Applications
Free members can answer the questions their applications need
On Free, you can now answer the questions your prepared applications need: in the Answer library, from the answers banner and in each application's answers form. The AI writing tools remain part of the paid plans.
Profile
Your profile photo now shows as soon as My profile opens
If you added a profile photo, My profile now loads it together with the page, so it shows right away instead of a moment later.
Behind the scenes: applications complete more employer forms
Applications now get through more of the forms employers use. We handle e-signature and agreement steps, checkbox groups, salary, date and multiple-choice questions, and work history sections on more career sites, upload your resume on more Workday sites, and recover from more security checks. Location questions on Lever forms are answered only with a place the form accepts.
