PRODUCT UPDATES

What’s new on September 29, 2026

The 51 updates to Applystead that went live for every member on .

Search criteria

Skip staffing and recruiting agencies

A new setting in your search criteria, next to Companies to exclude, skips jobs posted by staffing and recruiting firms such as Insight Global, TEKsystems and Robert Half. On a paid plan, you can also see how many jobs those firms would add while it's on.

Queue

The pay report window fits phones

On phones, the title of the window that opens from "Pay looks wrong?" no longer runs under its Close button.

Queue

Behind the scenes: your queue keeps up with changing job postings

When an employer changes or closes a posting after its application was prepared, that job is now refreshed or taken off your queue on its own, so the jobs you see stay ready to apply to.

Answers

Your answers are saved the first time

Answers you give under Need your answers are now saved the first time you save them, even while your questions are being updated, so you won't have to answer them again. If one question changed while you were answering, your other answers are still saved and only that question is shown again.

Answers

Skip for now sets a question aside for a week

Choosing Skip for now on a waiting question now sets it aside: it leaves your list and your count for a week, and jobs that need that answer wait for it. After the week we ask again, or choose Ask me now under Skipped for now to answer sooner.

Queue

Set a daily minimum for Auto

Premium members can set a daily minimum in Queue options. When Auto has sent fewer applications than that today (Pacific time), it also sends your closest matches below your match threshold, closest first, until it reaches the number. These can be looser matches. Jobs outside your locations, pay or remote settings, and applications that need your answers, still wait for you.

Thanks to Jake B. for their feedback.

Resumes

Send a different resume for different job titles

You can now keep up to five of your own resumes and add rules like "DevOps, SRE, Cloud" to your DevOps resume. When a job title contains one of those words, that resume is sent; other jobs get your usual resume. Each prepared application shows which resume it sends and when a rule chose it. You can still pick a different resume for any single job.

Queue

Apply no longer stops while we re-check your membership

When your membership was being re-checked at the moment you chose Apply, Apply could say a membership was required even though yours was active. Apply now waits for the check and goes through; if the check can't finish, it asks you to try again instead.

Assistant

Assistant and Dashboard advice no longer ask paying members to join

If you hadn't used Applystead for a few minutes, the Mac Assistant, its download and pairing, and the Dashboard advice chat could say a membership was required even though yours was active. They now re-check your membership and answer; if the check can't finish, they ask you to try again in a minute instead.

Queue

Tell us whether an estimated salary looks too high or too low

We now show an estimated salary only when we are more confident in it. If one still looks wrong, tap "Pay looks wrong?" and choose Too high or Too low. You can also add the yearly pay you would expect. Your answer helps us make estimates more accurate.

Thanks to Uzo for their feedback.

The latest jobs list opens faster

The latest jobs list now shows 50 jobs a page, so it opens faster on phones and computers. Use the page links at the bottom of the list to see more jobs.

Applications

See how many jobs you've applied to, and fold away sections

The Applied heading on Applications now shows how many jobs you've applied to in total, or how many match while you search. Each section on the page opens and closes from its heading, and stays the way you left it while the tab is open.

Queue

Filter your queue to jobs from the last hour

The queue's Posted or found filter now includes Last hour and Last 3 hours, so you can focus on the newest jobs.

Thanks to Jake B. for their feedback.

Applications

Submission confirmations now show on phones

The saved confirmation page from an employer now fits your screen when you open it from an application, on phones as well as computers. Scroll to read it, or download the full-size image.

Behind the scenes: closer watch on sign-in and checkout

We now keep an accurate count of every sign-up, sign-in and checkout, even rare ones, so our monitoring shows how they are working and we can spot problems sooner.

Job pages with the employer's full description

Job pages now show the employer's full job description, where the job is and when it was posted, plus the pay when the employer lists it, with a link to apply on the employer's site or with Applystead.

Company pages show the questions employers ask

Company pages now list the questions a company's application forms ask most, and companies with enough forms get a cover letter guide. Role pages now appear for roles with several openings, other openings are listed on the company page, and old company links take you to the right page.

100 more free tools for your resume, letters, interviews and pay

The free tools page now has 100 more tools: resume and cover letter writers, interview answer helpers, email and letter templates, resume and job posting checkers, and salary, offer and time-off calculators. The checkers, templates and calculators run in your browser; the writing tools share the free daily allowance. None of them needs an account.

Compare Applystead with six more job search tools

New side-by-side comparisons with AIApply, Careerflow, Huntr, JobCopilot, Kickresume and Rezi, with each tool's facts checked on its own website and dated.

Queue

Behind the scenes: lighter job discovery and application preparation

Finding new jobs and preparing applications now use less network traffic. Job listings load over a more efficient connection, page elements that don't affect an application take a cheaper route, and some checks of a job's application form are now done once for everyone instead of once per member. Your queue and applications work exactly as before.

A pricing page, and What's new opens faster

Every plan and its price are now together on one pricing page. What's new opens faster, and links to pages with an extra slash at the end now take you to the right page.

Applications

Premium: company names read the way you know them

People details and their short AI summaries now name each company the way your applications do, instead of the short code some job sites use in their links. The same name appears in the People section, on each person's card and on their full profile.

Applications

Premium: person profiles open faster, with clearer summaries

Selecting a name after its card appears now opens that person's full profile almost at once. Short AI summaries of people now describe only what we know about them, instead of noting what is missing.

Applications

Premium: see who is hiring for the jobs you apply to

On Premium, applications to US employers now show the people involved in hiring when we can find them, such as the recruiter named in the posting. Hover over a name, or press and hold it on a phone, for a short profile and why they matter for that job; select it to open their full profile. When we have a work email for them, we can suggest a short note for you to review and send yourself.

Interviews

Premium: more help before and after each interview

On Premium, each interview process with a US employer now shows who's involved across your rounds, and your briefing names the likely focus of each round. You can practice a round with questions and feedback on your answers, draft a thank-you note after a conversation, and get a negotiation brief when an offer arrives.

Queue

More Free jobs have their application forms ready

We now check application forms for your Free job list in the background, rather than waiting for you to open the queue. More jobs can be ready for Apply manually when you visit, with the form and job description available together.

Resumes

Tailor your resume with the chat beside it

Resume studio now looks like the rest of Applystead. When your window has room, your requests and the chat box sit in a panel beside your resume, and your resume fills the rest of the space from top to bottom and edge to edge, so you see more of it at once. On smaller windows, the chat stays under your resume.

Queue

Behind the scenes: protecting application processing

Job discovery now has an extra safety control so a limited job source can be paused without stopping your applications. Your saved jobs and application history are unchanged.

Applications

Search results appear sooner

When you search your applications, matches near the top of your list now appear as soon as they are found, and more matches follow as you scroll.

Resumes

Behind the scenes: smoother resume preparation

The step that builds the resume for each application now handles more applications at once, so applications wait less for it.

Mailbox

Next steps in thank-you emails reach your Mailbox

When a thank-you-for-applying email also invites you to a next step, such as an assessment, it now appears in your Mailbox instead of being filed away with routine receipts.

Queue

Every member's queue is prepared in turn

Applications are now prepared for every member in turn, so your queue no longer waits behind members who already have many jobs ready.

Behind the scenes: more groundwork for new features

We kept preparing new features that aren't switched on for members yet. Nothing changes in how you use Applystead today.

Mailbox

Screening invitations show up in your Mailbox

Invitations to a screening or another next step now reach your Mailbox even when a hiring system sends them from a no-reply address, and your Mailbox keeps showing your mail when your address details can't be loaded for a moment.

Answers

We fill in your email address for you

When an employer's form asks for your email address, we now answer it with the address you apply from: your Applystead address, or your own domain if you set one up. It no longer shows up in your Answer library or holds up an application.

Queue

See more of the resume when you review a job

When you open a job in your queue, its resume now runs from the top of the job to the bottom of your screen, so more of it is readable without scrolling. Its Open, Download and Template buttons, and a PDF's page and zoom buttons, now sit beside Pass and Apply; on a phone they sit just above the resume.

Resumes

Each application's resume is tailored to the job

The resume sent with each application now puts what matters most for that job first: your bullets, skills, achievements and projects are ordered by how closely they match the job description, and when it can, your summary leads with your own words about the matching work. Everything on it comes from your own profile, and wording changes only to use the job's name for a skill you already list.

Mailbox

Replies to every address you apply with reach your Mailbox

Recruiters and hiring teams who write to you from their own company email now reach your Mailbox, not only replies sent through an application system. If you apply from your own domain, mail still sent to your earlier Applystead address arrives in the same Mailbox, and each message shows which of your addresses it reached.

Resumes

Your resume fills the screen while you tailor it

In Resume studio, tailoring now shows your resume as large as your screen allows: the whole page when it fits, otherwise the full width to scroll through. Your requests go in a small bar under the resume, so you can ask for changes without losing sight of it.

Queue

Your queue is one tidy stack of jobs

Jobs in your queue now sit directly on top of one another, without a resume line under each card, so more of your queue fits on your screen. Open a job to see which resume it sends and preview it.

Privacy

Privacy policy: information about people at employers

Our privacy policy now describes the limited professional information Applystead keeps about recruiters and hiring managers at US employers. A new page lets anyone see what we hold about them and ask us to share, delete or stop using it.

Applications

Search your applications

Applications now has a search box. Type a company, a job title or a link, even just the company's own website, to find an application without scrolling. Clear, or Escape, shows every application again.

Queue

Editing an application's resume keeps its layout

When you edit a bullet on the resume of an application waiting for your OK, the edit box now holds only that bullet, and the updated resume keeps each role's and project's heading on its own line instead of joining it to the bullet before.

Answers

Follow-up questions show the question they follow

In your Answer library, a question such as "If hired, can you provide proof of eligibility?" now names the employer's question it follows and is listed right after it. When you answer it, your saved answer keeps that context.

Answers

See the answer you saved beside a question that looks the same

When your Answer library asks something that looks like a question you already answered, it now shows the answer you saved and says it doesn't answer this exact question, so you can see your answers are kept and why this one is still asked.

Queue

More room for your resume when you review an application

When you review an application, your exact resume now fills its space: the note and the bullet-or-section picker under the page are gone. You can still select any line of your resume to edit that bullet or section, or use Read or edit text below it.
