EFI is looking for a mid-level Hardware Engineer to join our Fiery Business Unit in our Fremont, CA office.
Job Description
As an Operations Engineer you will insure proper engineering operations, such as identifying, tracking and resolving defects, or recommending process changes. Manage the manufacturing of NPI and Production products to ensure manufacturing performance and quality that meet EFIs standards. Responsible for the implementation of manufacturing processes to ensures continuous improvement in cost, quality and process.
You will be involved with providing cost analysis results to assist management in decision making or other financial initiatives. Monitor, analyze and reports on AVL valuation, production and various other costs.
You will also be involved in insuring the smooth running of engineering taking care of EDA upgrades, enforce documentation, and insure that agreed best practices are followed. Manage project status reports, help coordinates project schedules and project meetings, along with identifying and resolving technical issues. Coordinate project activities and ensures all project phases are documented appropriately
As an Operations Engineer you should be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Requirements:
Become familiar with the Fiery DFE, state of the art industrial Inkjet Print electronics, and associated ecosystem.
Take a leadership role in resolving technical product design problems.
Perform special design projects or create one-offs as required.
Provide Engineering support for the print electronics to our IJS Inkjet division.
Propose cost reduction initiatives
Approve deviations requested for use of alternate components.
Initiate failure mode analysis on significant field returns or factory failures.
Promote proper documentation practices within the team.
Support EDA tools migration
Additional duties at times may require collaboration with business team leaders, engineering leaders, design Engineers, purchasing, and contract Manufacturing worldwide.
Partnering with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to develop new improvement initiative
